Washago awash with art

Share

The Town of Washago has become one large art gallery this summer with numerous paintings lining the streets.

For the sixth year, the Washago Art Club has put together a collection of paintings on aluminum panels and posted them around the community.

They include paintings of storks, sailboats and majestic waterfalls.

The display began on Canada Day and will run until late August.

“It gives validation to what you’re doing,” said Doug Cooper, a Washago artist. “And by the very nature of it being an artist is solitary, and this gives you the opportunity to be out in the community as well. And it’s a great feeling.”

If you’re interested in owning one of the panels, you’re in luck. The Washago Art Club is holding an auction on Aug. 27 and more details can be found on our website.
