Rebecca Johnston, 24, of Collingwood and 22-year-old Gordon McGirr of Wasaga Beach were killed when two cars collided just before 5 p.m. on Horseshoe Valley Road, near Line 6 North, Saturday.
OPP say McGirr was driving a Volkswagen Jetta with Johnston westbound on County Road 22 on Dec. 14, 2013 when he lost control and drifted into the eastbound lanes. A Cadillac Escalade eastbound on County Road 22 struck the Volkswagen. The 29-year-old driver of the Cadillac from Orillia was uninjured.
The roads were snow-covered at the time, and police say weather and speed were factors in the crash.
