A man and a woman are facing multiple charges after being found seemingly unconscious in a vehicle in Midland Friday afternoon.

At around 2:30 p.m., police say a community member noticed the pair in a vehicle behind Mountain View Mall, both appearing to be unconscious. Upon arriving at the scene, officers awoke the two occupants and began an impaired driving investigation shortly after speaking with the driver. Police add that further investigation led to the seizure of drugs believed to be fentanyl.

As a result, the 66-year-old Penetanguishene man was charged with impaired operation and two drug-related offences.

The 31-year-old passenger from Christian Island was charged with resisting a peace officer and possession of a Schedule I substance.

Both accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled for future court dates.
