The clock is ticking for two people who have Lotto Max tickets tucked away somewhere, and time is running out.

There could be a big winner walking around Orillia.

As one person tells CTV, knowing there’s a big ticket out there “makes me want to go check my drawers and make sure that my stubs I have aren't the winning ones.”

That’s a good idea considering one ticket out there is worth more than $300,000. The ticket was sold in the Sunshine City last November, but nobody has come forward to claim the cash.

But there's more to this 'search for the winner' story. In the exact same draw last November, there was another ticket sold, and it’s still outstanding too. That one, sold at a store in Cambridge, is worth $50 million.

“We do have unclaimed tickets from year to year, but it's quite strange for two of the top prizes to go unclaimed for one specific draw,” says Tony Bitonti with Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

Both tickets will expire at the end of the month, meaning whoever wins big needs to come forward fast.

“All the time, people will bring in tickets and they've gone through the washing machine so they're a little harder to check, but I see the date and it's from months ago and some of them are winners,” says store cleark Chantel Slusarek.

If the tickets go unclaimed, the winning cash will go back into OLG jackpots and bonuses.

Technically these tickets expire on Nov. 30, but that happens to fall on a Saturday, so the OLG is going to offer the winners a little more extra time. They have until Dec. 2.
