A man is in serious condition after police say a tractor trailer rolled on Friday afternoon due to high winds north of Shelburne.

It happened around 12:20 p.m. on Dufferin County Road 124, north of Hornings Mills in Melancthon Township.

The man was trapped for over an hour before being extricated by the Shelburne Fire Department and Dufferin EMS.

He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where he remains in serious condition.

A mobile home was also destroyed as it was being transported along the same highway on Friday afternoon. The winds knocked off the trailer and scattered wood debris across the adjoining field.

Dufferin County Road 124, between County Road 17 and County Road 21, was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up.
