Snow squall warnings issued under chilly conditions

Parts of Muskoka, including Bracebridge and Gravenhurst can expect upwards of 25 centimetres of snow accumulation by Friday night, with much the same anticipated for Midland, Coldwater, Orillia, Washago and surrounding areas.
According to Environment Canada, those residents can expect "a strong, slow-moving snow squall band off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will persist through much of the day."
The national weather agency says this snow squall will continue to bring significant snowfall amounts to areas southeast of Georgian Bay. It warns that "travel under the heaviest bands is expected to be difficult to nearly impossible at times."
"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Road closures are possible."
The snow squalls are expected to weaken by Friday evening.
