School bus cancellations in central Ontario

With more snow comes more snow days.

Snow squall warnings with up to 30 centimetres are called for over most of central Ontario today, school boards aren’t risking the roads with your children.

Enviroment Canada has also issued snow watches with poor visibility and blowing snow on the roads today, and three areas have been targeted for bus cancellations.

• Trillium Lakes District School Board has cancelled all school vehicles in Muskoka and Kawartha Lakes on Wednesday.
• Shared School Services Transportation has cancelled most of its buses, particularly in Meaford, Thornbury, Markdale and Flesherton.
• Simcoe County Student transportation Consortium has once again cancelled school transportation in the Muskoka region.

However, at the behest of town officials, Trillium Lakes District School Board will be opening some schools as warming and gathering places, including, Gravenhurst High School + Adult and Alternate Education Centre (AAEC), Gravenhurst Public School, and Muskoka Beechgrove Public School.

Keep in mind, transportation is not running to any schools in Gravenhurst, so parents/guardians are responsible for children’s travel arrangements.

K.P. Manson Public School in Gravenhurst will remain closed today, however, child care centres at Gravenhurst Public School and Muskoka Beechgrove Public School will be open.
