A grisly discovery brought police out to a quiet street in Wasaga Beach Wednesday.

A homeowner renovating a garage found what is believed to be a skull beneath the soil.

Officers spent most of Wednesday at the property on 32nd Street South, but don't believe there is reason for concern.

"At this time police believe it to be bones belonging to an ancient grave," said Const. Mark Kinney with Huronia West OPP.

Kinney said the OPP's forensic unit and an anthropologist assisted with the investigation at the scene where the remains were discovered.

The remains are being analyzed at the Centre for Forensic Sciences.
