The case of a well-known theatre director accused of luring teenaged girls was back in an Orillia courtroom today.

Hugh Alexander “Sandy” Thorburn faces 25 charges including making and possessing child pornography, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, internet luring and other sex related charges.

Today, Thorburns lawyer and the crown attorney met with a judge behind closed doors.

Thorburn was arrested more than a year ago at the Monte Carlo Inn in Barrie. Police alleged Thorburn was with a 17-year-old girl at the time of his arrest, allegedly to make child pornography.

Police say Thorburn met his victims online and used different aliases, pretending to be a photographer or model scout.

The alleged crimes happened in Barrie and Orillia last year between March and July.

While the court proceedings have been going on over the past year, Thorburn is out on bail, but under strict conditions.

The case resumes on October 14th.
