A 45-year-old woman was killed and her 13-year-old son was sent to hospital after a crash on Mapleview Drive Friday evening.
Barrie police say the pair’s grey Toyota was leaving a Tim Horton’s on Mapleview in the area of Veteran’s Drive when it was hit by a black BMW driven by a 17 year old.
The crash happened just before 7 p.m.
The mother was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son was taken to RVH. The driver of the BMW was also taken to RVH and was released with minor injuries.
Police say after interviewing witnesses, they’ve learned there was a white vehicle present during the crash. Officers believe the driver of that car could help them learn what led to the fatal crash.
