Dia Amore Jewellers owner Adam Amirzada is busy cleaning up broken glass after four suspects smashed display cabinets and made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry.
"We work hard all our lives," Amirzada said on Tuesday.
According to police, it is not believed any shots were fired; however, they say it is possible that one of the suspects had a firearm.
They say the suspects fled the mall in a white SUV.
One person suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
"We encourage anyone who may find themselves in a situation like this to just comply. Safety of the individuals involved is the most important factor, and then call police when it is safe to do so," said Jennett Mays with Barrie Police Services.
Mays said the investigation is in its early stages, and more details will be provided when possible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Barrie Police Service.
