Grey County provincial police have recovered the body of a boater who was reported missing in the Meaford Harbour.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit recovered the body of the missing boater just before 12:30 p.m. Friday. He was located approximately 30 feet from the dinghy in the Meaford Harbour off of Bayfield Street.
Police say on Thursday a man was seen lounging inside a seven-foot white dinghy in Meaford Harbour. At about 9:30 pm witnesses say they heard a splash in the water, and the dinghy was seen overturned.
The Canadian Coast Guard, OPP and the Meaford Fire Department worked together on the search.
Provinical police have identified the man as Gary David Robertson, 26, of New Lowell.
The corner attended the scene and a post mortem examination has been scheduled for Saturday in Owen Sound.
