Police believe more women may come forward after a man was arrested recently for allegedly committing “indecent” acts in his car at mall parking lots.

York Regional Police say a man was sitting in his car committing alleged indecent acts while watching women going into and out of area malls.

The 24-year-old was recently arrested after women who were at the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket and at the Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill complained about him to police.

He was charged with committing an indecent act and criminal harassment, and was released on bail yesterday.

Police say the first incident in Newmarket was Sept. 23, and the second was on Oct. 21. One woman told police she had seen the man several times over the past few months.

York police are now asking anyone who may have seen someone acting untowardly in a car to contact them.
