Police say officers apprehended someone in the vicinity of a Bradford elementary school on Thursday morning, but confirmed the incident had nothing to do with the school.

Officers were called about a mental health incident near Geddes Street and Crossland Boulevard around 9 a.m.

The individual, who police say appeared to be in crisis, was located near Harvest Hills Public School.

“The individual was not on school property and the incident did not involve the students or staff and faculty of the school. This is an isolated incident,” South Simcoe police stated.

Officers will remain in the area until the investigation is concluded, the service noted, adding students, staff and the public are not in an immediate risk.
