An Ontario man has been charged after a series of prank 911 calls.
Halton regional police say they received six calls in January and February for emergencies that turned out to be fake.
Police say the caller reported a knife fight at an Oakville, Ont., high school, a fight outside a library and numerous medical emergencies -- none of which were real.
Officers say the calls fit the profile of "swatting" -- a prank in which callers make a false report knowing it will result in a large number of police and other emergency personnel being sent to a scene.
A total of 20 police officers were sent out as a result of the prank calls.
A 37-year-old man is charged with six counts of providing false information and two counts of public mischief.
