Penetanguishene Road in Barrie to close for 3 days for asphalt paving
Roadwork on Penetanguishene Road in Barrie is set to cause a full closure between Steel Street and Georgian Drive for three days.
The City notes the closure from Mon., Sept. 9, to Wed., Sept. 11, is necessary to complete top asphalt paving.
The base asphalt was completed on Penetanguishene Road on Friday, including at the Georgian Drive intersection.
During the three-day closure, the City says the area will reopen to local traffic after 7 p.m. each day and close by 7 a.m.
While emergency services will be able to respond within the closed area, they will not be able to pass through it.
"Access for curbside collection will be facilitated from Grove to Penetanguishene within the limits of construction," the City states.

Other roadwork updates in the area include Ridgeway, where concrete curb repairs are now complete.
The City says boulevard and driveway restorations are scheduled for next week. However, the timeline for top-course asphalt paving on Ridgeway has yet to be determined.
On Grove Street East, line painting and boulevard restorations are still underway, with completion pending the asphalt paving on Penetanguishene Road.
