A 51-year-old woman is still in hospital with serious injuries after a she was hit by a car involved in a crash in Collingwood this weekend.

OPP issued a release Tuesday morning that said the woman had been walking in the area of Beech Street and First Street when a crash happened at the intersection Saturday afternoon. A westbound Honda SUV was turning left onto Beech when it collided with an eastbound BMW. That sent the BMW off the road, and it hit the pedestrian as she was standing on the sidewalk, police say.

She was taken to a local hospital and was then airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. She is still there.

One of the drivers involved in the crash was also taken to hospital. That person has non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate.
