Oro-Medonte home considered a loss after fire

The cause of a fire that caused significant damage to a home in Oro-Medonte over the weekend is under investigation.

Several crews responded to the call about a fire on Sunday on Line 8, where thick, black smoke filled the sky.

Officials say the occupants escaped safely, and no injuries were reported.

The home is considered a loss with an estimated $700,000 in damages.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office was not contacted to aid in the investigation.
