An Orillia man faces an additional criminal charge as part of an internet child exploitation investigation that included a search of the accused's residence in June and several items confiscated as evidence.

Police allegedly seized child sex dolls and child pornography books during the search, along with several computer devices for forensic analysis.

At the time, the 38-year-old man was charged with possessing child pornography.

He was later released from police custody to his surety with several court conditions in place.

Following analysis of the devices seized, police added a charge of assessing child pornography against the man.
