OPP make arrests in three impaired driving incidents in one night

Three drivers are facing multiple charges after OPP responded to three different reported impaired driving incidents in the same night in Orillia.
According to Orillia OPP, the first incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening, where officers responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch on Memorial Avenue.
Police say that the driver provided a false name and date of birth to responding officers, who, through further investigation, were led to believe the driver was intoxicated. Upon confirming the driver’s identity, the driver was arrested.
A 27-year-old from Ramara Township was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, and three other offences.

The second incident occurred that same evening just after 8 p.m., where police say officers found a vehicle stuck in a snowbank after they received a traffic complaint near Harvie Settlement Road and University Avenue.
Through further investigation, police say they suspected the driver to be impaired and the driver was subsequently arrested.
A 37-year-old from Angus was charged with operation while impaired and three other offences.
The third incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m., where, according to Orillia OPP, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Lightfoot Drive.
Police say one of the vehicles fled the scene and then left on foot at an address on Neywash Street, where they were located and arrested shortly thereafter. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
A 32-year-old from Toronto was charged with impaired driving, failing to stop after an accident and three other offences.
All three accused parties are scheduled for future court dates. Their licenses were suspended for 9 days and vehicles were impounded for at least seven days.
