Open beers and double the legal limit arrests in 24 hours

A man sitting in his car behind a bar was arrested for having twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Owen Sound Police spoke to the 24-year-old St. Jerome, Quebec man around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say he showed signs of impairment and was brought to the police station to provide additional breath samples.

He now faces impaired driving charges and driving with an excess blood alcohol level.
The next evening, Owen Sound Police conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check at 12:45 a.m.
Police say the second driver failed a breathalyzer test, and police found that all four occupants of the car had open cans of beer.
A 44-year-old man was taken to the station, where he was charged with various alcohol-related charges, as well as driving with open liquor and while under suspension.
Both vehicles were towed and impounded. Both men are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the criminal charges in September.
