A man from Newmarket is facing 80 charges in connection with a series of commercial break-in across York Region.

Police say multiple break-and-enters at commercial properties were reported to have occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday in Newmarket and Aurora.

Officers concluded the same suspect was responsible for each incident, York Regional Police stated.

Investigators say the suspect was wanted by police in relation to a series of commercial break-ins over the last several months.

“The suspect had been identified but fled from police in a dangerous manner on October 8,” police noted.

On Tuesday, the service says investigators located the suspect and took him into custody. They say he was on probation at the time of his arrest.

The 44-year-old man faces charges dating back to June.
