One of three young adults facing a slew of sex-related charges over allegations involving children will remain behind bars.

Kathryn Thompson of Orillia will stay in jail in protective custody following a bail hearing today because plans for her release did not come through.

“We had potential sureties but as of last weekend that fell apart. Having no other choice she consented to her detention,” says defence lawyer Angela McLeod. “This allows her case to move forward now.”

The other two people charged in the case are 22-year-old Shayne Lund, who is facing more than 100 charges, and Avery Taylor.

They both remain in police custody as well.

The three were arrested last month on various charges which include making and distributing child pornography, voyeurism, sexual assault, and other offenses.
