Multi-vehicle crash sends five to hospital
OPP continue to investigate a multi-vehicle crash that occurred midday Saturday in the City of Kawartha Lakes, resulting in five needing treatment for various injuries.
At around 12:11 p.m., OPP, Kawartha Lakes Fire and EMS were dispatched to a three-vehicle collision on County Road 35 near Long Beach Road and Country Lane. Police say the vehicles involved were a Ford F-150, a Subaru Forester, and a Chrysler Town and Country.
Four people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, while another was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre by Ornge.
County Road 35 was closed for several hours between Long Beach Road and Country Lane while members of the OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team investigated the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
