Police are investigating after two women were groped while out for walks in Barrie.

The first incident happened on Tuesday at around 1:40 p.m. in the area of Toronto Street and Sophia Street.

Barrie police says a woman was approached by a man who grabbed and groped her as she passed on the sidewalk. The suspect then fled the scene.

He’s described as a white 25-year-old man, about 145 pounds with a thin build, receding black hair and has a large forehead. He was last seen wearing a khaki green hoodie, camo cargo pants and running shoes.

At 10 p.m. that same day, police say a woman was walking in the area of Browning Trail and Fox Run. She was groped by a man, who then fled the scene.

The suspect in this case is described at a white man, about 5’9”, with a thin build, a full beard and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a short sleeve shirt and running shoes.

Neither woman was injured and police are treating the incidents as separate cases. Investigators say despite some similarities there isn’t enough to connect them just yet.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
