A hospital supervisor told a jury that she overheard a Midland nurse tell a doctor that the family of Deanna Leblanc wanted to remove her from life support.

On Monday, Shella Kennedy-McCormick testified that she heard accused Joanna Flynn tell Dr. Josef Dolezel, "The family would like to withdraw care.” Dolezel replied, “'I think we should wait until Monday."

Kennedy-McCormick, a registered nurse for 40 years, said it was only a short time later that she learned Leblanc died.

Dolezel previously testified that he still wanted to do a few tests and wasn’t ready to give up on Leblanc.

Mike Leblanc previously testified that Flynn offered to disconnect his wife’s life support. He said he didn’t know what to do and didn’t think he had much of a choice. He testified that he gave permission in 2014.

The Crown argues Flynn had no authorization to shut off the life support machine and overstepped her role as a nurse by doing so without a doctor's order.

Flynn is charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.
