There was more grisly testimony Thursday at the trial of Mark Dobson who is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

The court saw gruesome pictures and video taken from the hotel room where the bodies of Helen Dorrington and Mary Hepburn were found on May 2, 2012.

Security footage presented showed Dobson, Hepburn and Dorrington shopping together the day before. Security cameras also captured the trio shopping at the Canadian Tire at the mall.

On May 2, the women were found dead inside a hotel room at the Travelodge Hotel. Dobson was also found there with deep cuts to his arms and throat. He was arrested and charged. The court has heard it was supposed to be a satanic murder suicide pact.

One of the forensic identification officers who collected evidence at the hotel room testified on Thursday as a video and pictures of the scene were shown to the court.

In one of the pictures Detective Constable Kim Young took of the scene, the court could see blood smeared on the wall. Young said Hepburn and Dorrington’s partially naked bodies were each found on a hotel bed with gaping wounds to their necks. There were also blood stains throughout the room.

Police seized three Exacto knives in the room, two were found in the bathroom. The third knife was seized from a laundry room which was moved there from the room by hotel staff.

The officer testified that several empty containers of prescription drugs that were prescribed to Dorrington and Hepburn were also found scattered throughout the room along with pill crusher and children’s toys.

The identification officer also testified that a hand written suicide note explaining how Mary Hepburn died was found inside the room.

The court also heard the room had been booked by Dorrington and police found pieces of satanic art in her suitcase. Police also seized Dorrington’s laptop which was found in the bathroom.

A computer forensic investigator who examined Dorrington’s laptop told the court on Thursday he discovered through the internet history that several satanic websites and online user groups were visited over a period of time. He also testified that all three were associated to messages on a satanic user group.
