Mike Lang
ContactMike joined CTV Barrie in January 2024 as a video journalist.
He grew up in Montreal with a passion for watching Canadiens games on RDS, which is what first inspired him to pursue a career in broadcasting.
He began working toward that dream by attending the College of Sports Media during the pandemic, where he graduated in 2022.
Mike spent a summer at TSN as a story editor for SportsCentre and SC with Jay Onrait, which further ignited his desire to work on-air and led to a move across Ontario for his first reporter position with Thunder Bay Television (TBT).
During his time in Thunder Bay, Mike covered various news stories, including issues on crime, homelessness, aviation, and weather-related events. He had the opportunity to interview Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce during the 2022 CUPE strike and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh on affordable housing. Mike eventually moved to the desk full-time, serving as TBT's lead sports anchor for their weekday newscasts before joining the CTV Barrie team.
As a former competitive athlete, Mike is also passionate about health and fitness, working as a personal trainer in the Toronto area for six years. Most of his spare time is still spent working out and following sports, but he always finds time to visit his family and friends.
