L’Enfant had been behind bars at Central North Correctional Facility in Penetanguishene since his arrest last week following a police search of a Manly Street home.
He is charged with two sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services and overcome resistance.
On Friday, the 32-year-old Midland man’s father posted bail on a $5,000 pledge.
Investigators say L’Enfant is known to police. Court documents obtained by CTV News reveal he previously pleaded guilty to uttering threats last year and was convicted in 2020 for assault with a weapon.
His bail conditions also state L’Enfant can’t be in possession of any weapons and must live with and be in the company of his father at all times.
He is scheduled to make his next court appearance in Midland later this month.
The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
Police are encouraging anyone with information on the case to reach out. They remind the public there is no statute of limitations when reporting sexual assaults.
