Provincial police have arrested nine people including members of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club following a theft investigation in the Parry Sound area.

According to the OPP,  officers were called to a gas station business on Highway 69 in the Parry Sound area last Friday.

It's alleged some of the accused distracted an employee at the business while the others pried open an automatic banking machine.

Evidence collected at the scene helped investigators identify the suspects as members of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club who police say were on their way to a mandatory national gathering in Alliston.

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment assisted investigators with the West Parry Sound Detachment.

Themotorcycle riders were located on the 3rd line of Essa Township, where they were stopped, positively identified and placed under arrest.

Subsequent investigation led officers to execute search warrants at an address in Alliston where police seized one loaded firearm, 2 switch blades, and two retractable batons.

Seven people from Regina, one from Sudbury, Ont., and one from Coniston, Ont., are each charged with mischief over $5,000 and theft over $5,000. Police say weapons charges are pending.

The motorcycle club gathering over the weekend was monitored by Nottawasaga OPP and the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.
