A man accused of taking an upskirt photo of a woman at a Richmond Hill grocery store has been arrested.

On Wednesday, York Regional Police says a 39-year-old Markham man turned himself over to officers in Richmond Hill. He’s since been charged with voyeurism.

On Aug. 16, investigators say a woman was shopping at a grocery store in the area of Yonge Street and Meadowview Avenue.

According to police, the woman was browsing through an aisle, when she noticed a man crouched down beside her. She says the man allegedly moved his hand away from her, while holding a mobile phone.

Police believe the man may have used the phone to take a photo or video up the victim’s skirt.

The accused appeared before a Newmarket court on Wednesday.
