A man is in police custody after a stabbing in Midland on Friday morning.
Police were called to an east end home around 10:45 a.m. after they got a report of a stabbing.
When police arrived, a 39-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his lower torso area and the suspect had fled the scene.
Police say they located the suspect quickly in the area and arrested him.
The injured man was transported to the Georgian Bay General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was stabilized and taken into surgery.
Police say the two men knew each other and there is no threat to public safety.
Police are still investigating and charges are pending.
