Woman, 29, faces multiple charges after fleeing police in Collingwood
A 29-year-old woman faces several charges after police responded to a complaint about a suspicious vehicle in Collingwood.
Police say when officers arrived at the retail complex on Mountain Road on Monday afternoon and approached the vehicle, the driver fled "at a high rate of speed."
The officers didn't pursue the vehicle due to safety concerns but said it was located a short distance away in a residential area after crashing into a curb.
Police say the driver took off running with officers on her heels.
The driver was taken into custody.
"The investigation revealed that the vehicle and licence plate were stolen within York Region," the OPP stated.
