Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Severn Township as part of a sexual assault investigation, allegedly involving several complainants.

Provincial police say the accused claimed to be 17 years old while at a party in June with a group of younger females.

They say he provided alcohol and had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.

The accused is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm - choking, suffocating or strangling, sexual interference, and sexual assault on a person under 16.

"Since the investigation began, additional victims have come forward. Police believe there could be further victims," the OPP stated.

The Severn Township man has been held in custody to await a bail hearing.
