The city of Barrie is asking for the public's input to review its policies by updating its Multi-year Accessibility Plan and Age-Friendly Community Plan.

During the review, Barrie looks to remove barriers and improve accessibility across programs, and facilities to encourage an inclusive community for people of all abilities, including older adults and seniors.

Periodic reviews are conducted to ensure the city continues to meet the needs of the community and the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

The city is inviting feedback from the public by filing out the Seniors & Accessibility survey. Residents with disabilities, seniors, caregivers, or anyone concerned about creating a more accessible city are encouraged to participate in the Seniors & Accessibility survey, which is open until November 1.

The survey is available online, and hard copies can be filled out at Service Barrie in City Hall, Allandale Recreation Centre, Parkview Centre, East Bayfield Community Centre, and Peggy Hill Team Community Centre.

Feedback collected through the survey will be used to update the Multi-year Accessibility Plan and the Age-Friendly Community Plan.
