Guelph man charged for spitting toward officer

The Guelph Police Service has charged a man after they said he spat toward an officer.

Officers were called to a downtown service agency at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Staff asked police to speak to a man who was acting erratically.

While officers were speaking with the man, they said he repeatedly spat on the floor and on a table. When he was asked to stop doing that, police said he spat toward an officer.

A 22-year-old Guelph man has been arrested for assaulting police.
