A Penetanguishene man accused in a child pornography and sexual assault case in Orillia was back in court today.
And today, the judge issued a non-communication order between 22-year-old Shayne Lund and his father. Lund is currently facing over 100 charges.
He, along with 19-year-old Kathryn Thompson and 20-year-old Avery Taylor, face charges including sexual assault, making, possessing and distributing child pornography, conspiring to administer a noxious substance, even bestiality.
Lund appeared in Barrie court today. Some of his family and some of his alleged victims were also in court. Lund sat quietly in the prisoner’s box showing no emotion.
With the non-communication order Lund won’t be able to communicate with his father from this point forward in any way except through counsel for matters of the court. This non-communication order will be in place until at least the bail hearing.
Court heard the order was sought to preserve the integrity of the case, in case the father is called as a witness.
Shayne's father is an OPP officer. CTV Barrie again asked the OPP today for an interview. They have not commented on this case, and say they will not do so until their investigation is complete.
Lund was originally charged Sept. 13 by the Orillia OPP and has been in custody since that date.
Lund’s bail hearing is scheduled for Jan. 15.
