Intersection closed after cement truck loses mixer
A major Barie intersection was closed Thursday morning after a cement truck reportedly lost its mixer.
According to Barrie Fire officials, a cement truck lost its saddle tank around the intersection of Ferndale Drive and Drive North and Dunlop Street West. The incident occurred at around 10 a.m.
Officials add that hydraulic fluid was leaking on the road, and that the Barrie Fire Hazmat team assisted with the cleanup. Part of the intersection was closed as a result of the incident.
Environment services were also on scene making sure there are no hazards to the public. Officials are unsure how long the area will remain closed for.
