BARRIE, ONT. -- Innisfil has made some colurful additions to its streets for its 200th birthday.

Twenty banners have been hung from street lamps in Alcona, celebrating the town's bicentennial. There are another seven in Cookstown.

The mayor says the banners present an opportunity to recognize the town's history and celebrate its future.

"The banners will beautify our streets and lift spirits after a difficult year. They will remind people that we have a lot to feel good about here in Innisfil," Lynn Dollin said in a news release.
