Innisfil driver arrested twice in 24 hours
South Simcoe Police arrested the same man twice within 24 hours for his involvement in two separate collisions.
Police say he fled the scene in the first incident and overturned his vehicle in the second.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck at the intersection of Innisfil Beach Road and Webster Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, police say they learned that a vehicle hit a child on a bike. The child was treated by paramedics and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police say witnesses reported the vehicle travelling at inconsistent speeds before accelerating and hitting the child. The driver allegedly fled the scene after being confronted by witnesses. Police managed to locate and arrest the driver shortly thereafter.
A 33-year-old Innisfil man was charged with failing to remain at the scene and careless driving. Police also learned that he had been previously sentenced to three licensed suspensions and, therefore, charged him with two counts of operation while prohibited and three counts of driving while suspended. He was released with a future court date.
Then, at around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say they were notified of a crash at Lockhart Road and 25th Sideroad. Officers found a vehicle overturned on its side with the driver trapped inside.
The driver was extracted by Innisfil Fire & Rescue crews and then taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon investigation, police say they learned that the driver went airborne at high speed after losing control of his vehicle. A warrant was sought to check the driver for impairment.
The same 33-year-old Innisfil man was charged with additional counts of driving while prohibited and suspended, dangerous operation, and failure to comply with undertaking.
He was held in custody for a show cause hearing.
