Fire crews are on the scene in Clearview Township at a house fire in New Lowell.
Firefighters managed to contain the flames to an area around the furnace in the basement. There was nobody home at the time of the fire but there is extensive fire and smoke damage to the home.
Officials on the scene say the fire was not related to the furnace.
There were working smoke alarms.
Preliminary damage estimates are in the area of $100,000.
