A man and a woman face several drug and weapons-related offences after police say they seized a fully loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Barrie.

Police say officers pulled over a vehicle believed to be driven by an impaired driver late last week and discovered the gun, along with cash and suspected drugs.

Officers arrested the occupants, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Bradford.

Following a bail hearing, the man was remanded into custody while the woman was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

No further details were released on the arrest.
