Fatal collision under investigation in Muskoka
Police in Muskoka are investigating a deadly single-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday morning.
Provincial police say a woman was driving on Highway 117 near Brunel Road when her vehicle struck a hydro pole in Baysville sometime before 9:30 a.m. The vehicle appears to have come to a stop propped up on its front end, wedged between a tree, rock and pole.

Police say the driver, an 83-year-old woman from Huntsville, was the only occupant in the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear what caused the crash. Police say the conditions were clear at the time of the collision.
Police closed the intersection for the investigation.
