Dump truck driver with 19 beer cans charged after allegedly blowing 2.5x over limit

A dump truck driver was handed a lengthy licence suspension after police said he was behind the wheel while intoxicated.
Provincial police said an officer spotted the loaded dump truck as it failed to stop for a stop sign on Saturday on Line 7 North at 15/16 Sideroad East in Oro-Medonte.
"After pulling the truck over, the officer noticed the driver showing signs of impairment and conducted an ASD test, which resulted in the driver blowing a fail," OPP stated.

The officer searched the truck and allegedly found 10 empty beer cans and nine more sealed cans.
Police alleged the driver blew 2.5 times over the legal alcohol limit while being tested at the station.
The accused, a 46-year-old man from Alliston, is facing charges of impaired operation, failing to stop for a stop sign, driving with liquor readily available, and driving with an open container of liquor.
The driver was also handed a 90-day licence suspension, and the company's dump truck was impounded for seven days.
