A comic book store in Alliston was the focus of a drug investigation on Tuesday.

Nottawasaga OPP officers arrived at the Kool Kollectibles store with a search warrant at around 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

Police seized 55 oxycodone pills at the store and another 820 oxycodone pills from a Toronto residence. The total street value of the prescription drugs seized is $52, 500.

“In this particular case it’s prescription medication that was being sold,” said Nottawasaga OPP Staff Sergeant Brian Humber. “Narcotic-type stuff…Oxycodone, Percocet…that type of stuff.”

Officers have been keeping an eye on the comic book store ever since they received tips about illegal activity at the store several months ago.

The store owner, a 39-year-old Toronto man  has been arrested and charged with possession of a drug for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtain by crime.

He was schedule to appear in bail court Wednesday.
