Driver faces charge and $250 fine after colliding with OPP vehicle

A motorist faces a careless driving charge and $250 fine after a collision involving an OPP vehicle in Caledon.
Provincial police say the collision happened late Wednesday afternoon in the Church Road and Centreville Creek Road intersection.
“The investigation revealed that the driver of the other vehicle entered an intersection when not safe to do so and caused a collision with the police vehicle,” OPP stated.

No injuries were reported.
Police say the driver, a 28-year-old man from Georgetown, was also issued a three-day licence suspension for registering in the ‘warn range’ for blood alcohol concentration when providing a breath sample.
“A warn range on an Approved Screening Device is having a Blood Alcohol Concentration between 0.05-0.079,” OPP explained.
First time penalties carry an immediate three-day driver’s licence suspension and $250 fine.
