Driver clocked at more than 2x the speed limit

South Simcoe Police have charged a male driver after allegedly being clocked at more than double the speed limit in Innisfil.

At around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, an officer captured a vehicle's speed at 129 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometre per-hour zone while conducting mobile speed enforcement. The vehicle was travelling southbound on Maple Road approaching 6th line.

The 40-year-old driver from Etobicoke was charged with stunt driving and speeding. His vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and his license was suspended for 30 days.
