Driver charged with impaired after reporting traffic complaint on himself: OPP

A man from Shelburne, who police say called in a traffic complaint about himself, is facing impaired driving charges.
Provincial police say officers responded to a call in the area of Willoughby Road in Caledon early Tuesday morning and, after speaking with the driver, launched an impaired driving investigation.

The 35-year-old man is accused of having a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit and was handed a 90-day licence suspension.
Additionally, his vehicle was taken to an impound yard for seven days.
Police urge motorists to plan ahead and use a designated driver, call a cab or rideshare, use public transit or stay overnight after consuming drugs or alcohol.
"Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements. In a split second, you could ruin your future, injure or kill others, and tear a hole in the heart of everyone who loves you," the OPP stated.
