No injuries were reported, and police have reason to believe this was an isolated incident.
"However, with a firearm involved, the OPP urges the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times," police noted.
Police say two suspicious vehicles were spotted parked on Rainbow Valley Road about an hour before the alleged shooting, and both headed west toward County Road 27.
"One vehicle is a dark red SUV missing a side-view mirror, possibly a Mazda from 2017-2024. The other vehicle is described as a full-size SUV, possibly grey," the OPP stated.
Police ask anyone in the area of Rainbow Valley Road between Baseline Road and Highway 27 to check, save and secure any potential video evidence from home surveillance between Saturday at 11:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 a.m.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities at 1-888-310-1122.
