Downtown Barrie road closure: Here's what you need to know
A section of Dunlop Street West in downtown Barrie will be closed starting Tuesday as construction progresses on a condo development.
The City says the existing tower crane within the 55 Dunlop Street West building will be removed during the street closure, and the existing underground water services will be decommissioned.
From Tues., Oct. 15 until Sun., Oct. 20, Dunlop Street West will be fully closed between Toronto Street and Maple Avenue. Additionally, the Dunlop and Mary Street intersection will be closed during this time.
The following week, from Oct. 21 to Oct. 29, Dunlop Street West will be closed from east of Mary Street to Maple Avenue.
Once the work is completed, Mary Street will return to one-way traffic.
Barrie Transit routes 2 and 8B-SB will also be detoured during the road closure.
